LIVE Event Monitor: capture broadcasts and understand session analytics

Enable selective creator capture, inspect individual LIVE sessions and use the sound companion while understanding what the captured data can and cannot show.

This guide describes the available features. Your account role, assigned modules, signed contract and network plan determine which controls you can use. Reading a guide does not change your access.

Start here

  1. Open LIVE Event Monitor and search for an active creator by creator or manager name. Clear status filters if the expected row is missing.
  2. Owners: choose Enable capture for the intended creator. Managers can inspect creators in their hierarchy but cannot change normal capture settings.
  3. Wait for a LIVE broadcast and inspect connector status and the automatically updating Event feed.
  4. Open the creator’s LIVE streams list, then open an individual session’s analytics to review its comments, gifts, audience and coverage.
  5. Use Open sound page for spoken viewer alerts. Enable sound in that browser before expecting audio.

Start with the correct creator and scope

The owner’s view covers the network. A manager’s normal view is restricted to the creator ownership hierarchy available to that manager. Search creator or manager and the status filter help narrow the list to All creators, Enabled, LIVE now, Offline, Needs attention or Disabled.

Enable capture activates retention for the chosen creator. Monitoring enabled is not the same as LIVE now: the connector still has to detect a current broadcast. Stop capture stops monitoring for that creator; it does not convert older broadcasts into empty records. Only the main owner manages normal capture controls.

The dashboard’s Enabled creators, session and engagement summaries describe captured information in the available scope. Check the selected creator or selected session context before comparing values across screens.

Use the creator overview and LIVE history

Open a creator to see username, network manager, current-month Diamonds when available, agency information, capture status, Latest LIVE and Last connected. Overview, LIVE streams, Event activity, Gifts and Monitoring jump to the corresponding sections of the creator page.

LIVE history keeps each captured broadcast as a separate record even if the creator reuses the title. The stream table includes capture start and end, captured duration, Diamonds, event counts, reported/peak/latest viewers, participants, comments, observed likes, gifts, shares and follows. Use Newer streams and Older streams to navigate a long history.

Imported monthly history is kept separately from captured LIVE sessions. It contains coarse Backstage totals and cannot recreate comments or minute-by-minute events from broadcasts that were never captured.

Inspect a single broadcast and playback

Open a stream’s Analytics to inspect that broadcast. Capture details shows the TikTok room identifier, platform start, capture start, last observed time, coverage, connections and disconnects. Partial coverage means the monitor did not observe the complete broadcast.

Stream video works only while TikTok provides a current signed HLS playback URL and the browser supports playback. The monitor does not promise a permanent video recording. An expired URL, TikTok browser-playback rejection or unsupported browser can leave a valid analytics record without playable video.

Guest boxes lists observed multiguest or LinkMic guests with join/leave observations and gift totals when the recipient could be identified. It is specific to that session, not a list of every guest the creator has ever hosted.

Read comments, gifts and the live event feed

Event feed updates every few seconds with normalized events delivered by the connector. An initial history batch may be labeled separately. A waiting state can be expected while no enabled creator is live.

All captured comments lists retained delivered comments in captured order. Earlier comments and Later comments page through the archive. Emote-only entries can have no text if TikTok provided no text. The archive is not a guarantee of every comment visible inside TikTok: pre-capture activity, connection gaps, filtering and connector omissions can leave gaps.

Gifts received combines captured gift information with stored catalogue artwork and missing values where needed. The original captured LIVE values remain the historic source of truth. Session pulse shows minute snapshots of peak viewers and engagement, useful for identifying which portions of a captured session were busiest.

Interpret the observed audience correctly

Audience observed includes accounts identified in delivered events. All identified, No engagement and Engaged filter the evidence table. Each row shows first and last observed events plus counts of joins, comments, likes, gifts, shares and follows/subscriptions.

No captured engagement means the monitor received a join but no captured engagement event. It does not mean the person watched silently for the whole session. Ordinary viewer leave events and a dependable complete audience roster are not available, so these rows cannot prove who stayed, how long they watched or every person who entered. Use Previous viewers and Next viewers to inspect further rows.

Use the public sound companion

Open sound page opens the selected monitored creator’s companion link. The companion shows LIVE or Waiting for LIVE, a live Comment stream and Spoken viewer alerts. Choose Enable sound once so the browser can read new comments, joins, follows and gifts using TikTok display names.

Keep the companion open on the device that should produce sound. If it is silent, check the sound state, device output and whether new events are arriving. A browser gesture is required before speech can begin.

Treat this link as access to the creator’s public companion feed. The owner can choose Reset link while monitoring is enabled; the previous link immediately stops working. Replace any shared or bookmarked old link after resetting. A Page unavailable message can mean monitoring is paused, the link was reset or the creator/page is no longer available.

Advanced access and unavailable features

DEV requires its access code and allows tracking a TikTok username outside the network roster. These DEV creators remain separate from the normal creator list. Use this only when you have that diagnostic access; adding a DEV creator is not onboarding them into the network. Exit DEV mode ends that mode for the session.

The older trigger-rule area is not available in the current module. It is hidden and create/toggle trigger actions are rejected. Do not expect a rule builder or external action automation here. Gift Video Alerts and Real Time AI are separate Games Center experiences that consume monitored events.

Troubleshoot before changing settings

If a creator is missing, review search, status, active creator status and manager assignment. If monitoring is enabled but the creator is not detected live, inspect connector status and last-connected time. A missing event can be a coverage issue rather than a deleted record.

If a control reports that the session token expired, refresh and retry from the fresh form. If a browser source loses access after Reset link, open the new sound-page link. Capture cannot recover detailed events from before monitoring started.

Frequently asked questions

Does the monitor record every TikTok comment?

No. It stores events delivered to and retained by the connector. Events can be omitted by TikTok or the connector, and activity before capture or during gaps may be missing.

Is the audience table a complete attendance list?

No. It shows identified accounts observed in delivered events, not a dependable full viewer roster or watch-duration report.

Why can I see analytics but not a replay?

Playback depends on a current signed TikTok stream URL and browser support. Historic analytics do not imply a permanently saved video.

Can a manager enable capture?

Normal capture controls are owner-managed. Managers can inspect the creators available in their hierarchy.

Where are triggers?

They are unavailable in the current module. The old form is hidden and trigger mutation requests are rejected.

Why did the sound link stop working?

Check whether monitoring was stopped or the owner reset the link. A reset invalidates the previous link immediately.

Still stuck? Note the page name, the step you tried and the exact message shown. Managers and sub-users should contact their network owner; owners should contact their platform administrator. Never include passwords, webhook URLs, recovery links or private identity documents in a general support message.
