Preview and download a public TikTok video

Paste a public video link, confirm that it is the correct post and save the available MP4 to your device.

This guide describes the available features. Your account role, assigned modules, signed contract and network plan determine which controls you can use. Reading a guide does not change your access.

Start here

  1. Copy the share link of the public TikTok video you want to save.
  2. Paste it into TikTok video URL. Standard post URLs and vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com short links are supported.
  3. Choose Prepare download and wait for the thumbnail, creator, caption and public statistics to load.
  4. Check that the preview is the intended video, then choose Download MP4. The prepared link is single-use and expires after about ten minutes.
  5. Wait for the download to finish and look in your browser’s downloads list or your device’s selected save location.

Choosing the right link

Use a video post link, not a creator profile, unrelated website or private login page. Short links must resolve to a supported public TikTok post. If preparation fails, open the source post normally to check whether it is still available.

Only save content you own or have permission to use. A downloadable file does not transfer copyright or permission to repost it.

Checking the preview before saving

The preview helps you verify the creator, caption and thumbnail before requesting the file. Public engagement counts describe the returned post data and can change over time.

If the preview shows the wrong post, replace the URL and prepare again. Wait for preparation to finish rather than repeatedly submitting the same link.

Downloads and temporary files

The site prepares a temporary server copy for delivery to your browser and removes that temporary copy afterward. The file you save on your device remains there until you remove it.

If the download fails, check the browser’s downloads list first. Retry from a fresh preview if needed; a temporary download link may no longer be usable. Some posts or source responses do not provide a usable MP4, and the site cannot guarantee every public post will download.

During processing, keep the browser tab open. Hiding the processing window does not cancel the active request. If the prepared link has expired or was already used, prepare the video again for a new link.

Frequently asked questions

Where did my downloaded file go?

Check your browser’s downloads list and the device’s Downloads folder, or the location selected in its save dialog.

Why does a link fail even though it came from TikTok?

Check that it resolves to an available public video post. A private, removed or unsupported post, a non-video link or an unavailable upstream response can prevent preparation.

Does the site keep a permanent copy of my download?

The download flow uses a temporary server file and cleans it up. Your browser or device retains the copy you chose to save.

Can I use the downloaded video commercially?

Downloading does not grant usage rights. Obtain the necessary permission from the creator or rights holder for your intended use.
