Configure all manager permissions together

Read the permission matrix and make controlled changes by manager, module or the whole network.

This guide describes the available features. Your account role, assigned modules, signed contract and network plan determine which controls you can use. Reading a guide does not change your access.

Start here

  1. Open Manager Module Access as the owner and check the manager, active-account and configurable-module counts.
  2. Use Find a manager to locate an account by name, email, type or agency.
  3. Tick individual cells or use the appropriate manager-column or module-row controls after reviewing their scope.
  4. Review all intended changes, including any hidden by your search, and choose Save All Manager Access.
  5. Check the success message and reloaded matrix to confirm the number of managers and configurable modules updated.

Orient yourself in the matrix

Modules run down the rows; managers run across the columns. Column headings show the manager’s name, email, Agency or Team type, status and parent agency where relevant. Find a manager hides non-matching columns; it is a visual search, not a selection of accounts to update.

Only restricted modules that are active and enabled for the owner account are configurable. Free — always on, Disabled globally and Not enabled for your account explain locked cells. Managers appear after Backstage imports create the accounts. Inactive managers and managers hidden by an unavailable parent do not appear as normal targets.

Choose the right bulk control

All and Clear in a manager column affect that manager’s configurable modules. All managers and Clear in a module row affect that module across the matrix. Enable every available module and Clear every restricted module affect all configurable cells.

These actions affect their complete scope even when Find a manager hides some columns. Searching for one manager does not turn a whole-matrix or module-row action into a filtered action. For a single person, use the controls in that person’s column or their individual module page.

Save once after reviewing

The matrix needs JavaScript to assemble and save changes. Tick or clear the desired cells, review the result, then choose Save All Manager Access. Until that save, changes are only in the open page. The assignments are saved together in one transaction.

The page records the managers and modules that were present when it loaded. Managers or modules added afterward are not changed by that older page. Reload before a new batch if the network structure has changed. A session-token or unreadable-payload error requires refreshing and repeating the intended changes.

Use permissions as part of onboarding

After creating a manager account through imports, confirm the person’s Agency or Team hierarchy, then grant the modules required for their work. An enabled cell does not grant owner-only billing, team administration or report access. Role-specific restrictions still apply inside modules.

When no managers are found, use Open Managers to investigate source data and account status before attempting to save an empty matrix.

Frequently asked questions

Does the search limit Enable every available module to the search result?

No. Search only hides columns. Whole-matrix and module-row controls include hidden manager columns.

Can I change globally disabled or unavailable modules here?

No. Locked cells explain whether a module is free, disabled globally or not enabled for the owner account.

When do checkbox changes take effect?

When you choose Save All Manager Access and receive a successful save. Ticking a box or using All or Clear alone does not persist changes.

Will an old page change a manager added in another tab?

No. Newly added managers or modules are not targets of a matrix that was already open. Reload to include them.

Still stuck? Note the page name, the step you tried and the exact message shown. Managers and sub-users should contact their network owner; owners should contact their platform administrator. Never include passwords, webhook URLs, recovery links or private identity documents in a general support message.
